Hey Guys, I want to do something for the club since im is crappiest member. Im going to sort of plan a meet for the summer. I hope its a big 'un. I want to get an idea of where people would be willing to drive to for this thing so please vote accordingly. Thanks guys/gals.

Oh, and if anyone should want to/like to help me, that would be great as I barely have enough free time to blink up here.

I have included the map I made the poll from, Feel free to make suggesitons!

My choice could depend a lot on what you plan on doing before/after the meet. Have any idea?

Yeah.... i think if we have an idea of whats going to be involve within the meet.
For example a big meet would need
1. An open area for a Photoshoot.
2. Possibly a fun route that we can all drive on.
3. Possibly a park where we can all have a lil picnic/bbq. Play some football, basketball, volley ball, or anything else...
etc......

Lol we can all choose a place like Cherry Creek Res. Park our cars and go have fun in the water and sand... maybe even build a sand-mr2 :dunno: .

Well there isnt much parking from what I remember at Cherry Creek. I went there once for one of my dads business BBQ's and its usually packed and costs $ to get in. Like I say, I am open to suggesttions. Keep em coming guys/gals :)

I think you may want to be a little more clear on your poll, are you talking about final destination (if any) or starting point?

Jarod, My suggestion (what worked for me in holding meets in the past, back east) is to come up with a plan that excites you, and just go for it. If you notice, for the most part the same people will attend just about any meet if they can make it regardless of location. due to the number of people in the springs, you may want to avoid Ft. Collins, but that is just a suggestion.

if you need help, I certainly will offer any advice upon request.

The poll says Meet Spots, implying how far would you drive for a meet.

See:
View Poll Results: Where would you prefer the meeting spot be?

I don't have any plans on what to do, looking for suggestions. The only thing that excites me automobilistic is competative racing. So what excites me is out of the question for a lot of owners.

Am I the only one getting mixed messages here?

Why must you all make this harder than it is? For god's sake, I asked where youd be willing to drive to meet up because not everyone wants to spend 1-2 hours in car to stand around in a parking lot.

I can drive anywhere as long as it lands on a Saturday because I work Sundays.

Not any further south than castle rock. It's a bit of a drive for me :)

I think this might be the only way to actually get something going. I know it sucks, coming up with the location/gameplan is often the hardest part. And then everybody says "I can't make it that weekend," or "that's too far away from me." But fuck 'em. It's your meet, so while you want people to attend, you can't please everyone. We have shown ourselves in the past to be wishy-washy or unwilling to actually give constructive input on a plan/location until someone suggests something concrete.

Being fairly far north myself, I'd also rather it not be any further south than Castle Rock. Also, since the last meet (that I know of, sorry if I missed one) was in Castle Rock, why not try the Denver metro area this time?

Personally, I've heard there are some great roads close to Ft. Collins (from people who ride sport bikes), but I don't know anything about it.

I'm always up for a meet and drive (as long as it doesn't coincide with an driving event I'm planning on). A route through Golden Gate Canyon or whatever is always fun for me, if there isn't a ton of gravel on the roads (maybe iffy in March) and tourists blocking the road (prob. not too many in March).

Here are some route suggestion threads on HAI . . . sounds like driving to Estes Park is a nice easy route with a destination where people can eat, hang out at a park, etc.

The drive to estes from the fort is a nice one, but not a good road to get crazy on. It's narrow, always has some loose pea gravel on it, and one side is a cliff, while the other is a guardrail protecting you from a river. There aren't many pullouts.

On the other hand, it's super scenic, estes has many great places to hang out, shoot the shit, and they have a pretty fantastic pizza place in the middle of town that would seat all of us.

Whenever we get bored up here, we take a drive to estes and hit up the brewery and the pizza place. (The brewery could probably seat all of us too.) Here's some pictures from about 3 weeks ago on the drive up. Sorry for the lack of detail, but my cameraman was trying to take artsy photos.

If we do decide to do estes, We could probably meet up in boulder, head up to lyons on hwy 7, take either 7 or 36 from lyons and end up in estes. Pretty nice cruise the whole way up, and those of you who feel the need for relative speed could get your jollies from that direction, as opposed to the fort collins direction.

Hey guys, I remeber once I went on a neat back country highway with my dad once. I think it was 285, not sure though. I was poking around on maps, and I found this route, what does everyone think?

We'd meet at Bandimere Spdwy and drive to buchannan ponds or idaho springs or even blackhawk depending on how up for it people are. Let me know.

Sounds good. I know where Bandimere is. :D

Any of the over-21 crowd up for a little low-stakes poker in Blackhawk? Don't worry, it won't take too long for me lose my wad - an hour tops.

1) about.. 90% of our meets land on Sundays -- will this still be the case? (If so tha'd be excellent..)

2) Let's try somewhere different! (No matter what.)
BUT -----Somewhere though that at least 3-5 poeple in the group ARE FAMILIAR WITH. Incase of different circumstances, i personally don't like to be speeding around in an area i'm not familiar with, and it might be a little more reasuring to have some familiarities in the group. (I have several instances i can provide to prove my point lol)

3) Definitly Good Food -- large enough to be able to HANDLE US! At one point or another..
4) Large parking lot at ONE POINT OR ANOTHER for the photography. Since i myself take majority of the pictures for every meet that i attend to -- nothing is more appreciated then some where that's nice to take pictures of the cars.

Otherwise, woohoo for someone else planning a meet!!!! :)

If its on Sunday I will meet anywhere reasonably close to the Denver area. Saturdays would be 50/50 for me. If we go by BlackHawk I would vote for a quick stop. Just got back from Vegas last night and didnt quite get enough.

The 18th would be good, but not the 25th. NOT a night cruise -- tha'd just be silly and pointless. Might as well then just go cruising on academy if you wanted to do that.

I think a night cruise would be fun.. as long as we had a day meet. At least that way we could get some good pictures in.
