any one in the springs see this? Its great and all that they are going to such lengths to stop drunken drivers, but werent they kind of hurting them selves by putting the signs for it like 5 miles before? I swear, you had about 20 turn offs you could have taken, they had signs saying "sobriety check point ahead" like 3 miles in advance. whats the point of doing it if youre going to warn everyone that its comming up? id be curious to hear the results of the night, and what all types of tickets they handed out as Im sure they arent just giving dui's.

Yeah they have to post those signs. What they hope is that the drunks won't see them while driving. Since if you're drunk you're paying too much attention to the road and not to the signage on the side of the road they think they will catch them. It's also the law you have to leave at least one exit between the sign and the checkpoint. I am not out at night so I haven't seen one of those in a very long time.

let me get this straight, they put the signs out so they can give drunk drivers a chance to get away? so lets divert them to town with more cars and chances to screw up and hit someone.

The whole check point thing is nothing new. Last summer they were pretty damn popular on Friday/Saturday nights.
lol Kinda funny that they put signs up though.

yeah, I remember them from last summer. they gave you a ton of warning back then too. If you actually didnt read the 50 signs prior to the check point then they should give you a ticket for absolute stupidity!

That is our great legal system at work. Without the signage you have people complaining about illegal search and seizure and no probable cause and shit. If you choose to stay going down that road then you're basically volunteering to be sobriety checked.

yeah. I never go through them. I never drink, and even if I did I wouldnt be drinking and driving. I can see myself going through one of them sometime just to cooperate and end up getting tickets for bullshit things, and getting harassed like most of the times I get pulled over. no thankyou:thumbd:

Yeah I can see it happening too. They say it's supposed to be only for DUI and they don't ticket for other crap, but yeah I don't believe that at all.
