hello RMMOC, I got here from the MR2oc board. I just registered with the same board name here. For a quick introduction, I live close to Austin, TX and I drive a red 91 turbo.
I'm coming to fort collins/estes park area end of July to beginning of August for some workshops. After looking at the motel rates on the net, I must say I'm unpleasantly surprised by how expensive they are. even Motel 6 is 65/night. I'm wondering if any of you local guys can recommend a cheap and clean place in fort collins/loveland area that my wife and I can stay for about a weeks time?
TIA
Peter

I just found this Lamplighter Motel (http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?addr=1809+N+College+Ave&csz=fort+collins%2C+co&country=us&new=1&name=&qty=) that gave me a good weekly rate.
Is it in a okay neighborhood for those of you that are familiar with the area?

I've never seen that motel in person, but judging by the map you'll be okay.
Fort Collins is a very bordered town- there's a street on the N, E, S, and W where the town just ends. This motel is a little north of what I would consider "town", but you'll be okay anyways. Fort Collins isn't big at all. It's in a fine part of town.
Quite honestly, anywhere you stay should be okay, as long as you're near the city. The only downside is traffic on College (287), Horsetooth, and Drake. It seemingly comes from nowhere at all times of the day.

sorry for the confusion. We're going to stay in Ft. Collins. the reason I mentioned Estes Park is that one of the workshops is going to be there but I can drive there for one day just fine.

It's less than a half hour, and a fun road from Fort Collins. If you need me to, I can provide directions.

Time is relative to speed. If you're not driving balls out it'll take a bit over an hour.
