Anyone have any interest in using our MR2 club membership as an excuse to get together and go skiing?
I was thinking about going skiing on January 17th (Martin Luther King day) My wife is a beginner (skied once so far) and I wanted to take her to copper to give her more lessons. Anyone else want to go? If you are a beginner, I will give you free lessons.

Great.
Stay tuned here for more details as I figure out what time. Since you live in evergreen, do you want to carpool or just meet there?
Anyone else wanting to come please post your interest here! Please understand that I will be spending most of the day on the Easier side of the mountain while teaching my wife to ski. Like I said before I am offering free lessons to anyone who wants to learn to ski, or just ski better.
Indigo, if you are an experienced skier and dont need lessons, we will have to work out how to spend the day on the mountain. Unless you hill bombers want to come together and ski that day too. It will be great fun.

Well, I'm a pretty good skier. I could meet you up there or carpool, either way is fine with me.

I'm in, but I'm not quite a beginner. I could rent blades, just to be starting new at something ;)
Gonna be croweded as hell though

You and indigo should get together and ski the rest of the mountain. Ill be on the beginner side teaching my wife. You think Monday will be crowded? only bankers, and govt workers have the day off. I dont know if schools are off or not.
I didnt think it would be as crowded on monday as on the weekend.

Well, crowded or not, I still am going.
Does anyone know where to get the best discount on Copper Mountain tickets? The cheapest I found is $59 at king sooper. (regular $64)
I heard about something called a Copper Card, that is used for discount. Anyone know about this thing?

I get discounted tickets with my pass. I'm not sure how much of a discount I get though, I'll try to find out. They stopped selling copper cards a few months ago(I think it gave the same discounts as a season's pass).

Thanks guys.
I guess I didnt plan this out too well. Since I will be on the beginer slopes all day, there is no need to get together and ski.
Sorry about that.
But you 2 (and anyone else) can get together and tackle those black diamonds.

Nice! Your my new bestfriend!
Sounds like 4 of us going. Where should we meet? Ive only been there once so I will need good instructions on where to meet you guys and what time. I figure we can meet up in the morning, get our tickets (thanks for the discount indigo!)
Then Indigo and Zero1 can ski the middle and left side of the mountain while I give my wife her second lesson.
We meet back for lunch and see how we all feel about skiing in the afternoon.
What do you think?
By the way.... anyone else who is learning or wants to learn, GART SPORTS has rentals for $14 (boots skis and poles)

Unless the discovery channel is in your garage, you shouldnt have crazy deadlines like on American Chopper. ;)

Copper was great. A little crowded but not as bad as you might expect for a holiday.
let me also just say.... Indigo is possibly the best skier I have ever skied with!! Damn that girl is fast!
Indigo, Thanks for going and helping me teach my wife to ski. We both had a great time. And thanks for taking me down that Double Diamond where I almost died!!! kidding, I had a lot of fun.
