Here's a story:

A man bearing my last name from Louisiana once had an import car called a Spyder. It was a mid-engined 2 seat convertible. He and his friend decided they would pack their gear, drive to Colorado shortly after new years and go skiing for a week. He didn't consider the weather or his car's winter capabilities. He experienced difficulty along the way...

That was 1972 and the man was my father. He was driving a Fiat. I didn't learn and did the very same thing. The car experienced a severe lack of power once I broke 9000ft. As I was sitting there...sideways at a stop in the middle of I-70 1/4mile short of the Eisenhower tunnel at 11019ft...the irony of the situation struck me.

I think my brain has been turned off the last 23 years.

In the end I made it. A week of skiing and drinking in Keystone, CO should do me good. Job is getting me down lately and whatnot.

Cheers.

its all downhill. youll be fine.

As for losing power at 9k ft. Better check your clutch and buy that turbo kit quick.

I am planning a Hass Stage 2 kit for Q205. With 275WHP, I think it should help...just a tad. My Spyder already has all the chassis stiffening bits, so it should be an excellent handling monster when I'm done.

PS: I forgot what a cheap drunk I am at ski resorts...fortunate when you consider the prices.

the joy of natutally aspirated four cylinders in the mountains. slow as hell, but once you get them going you can still have fun in the turns. Im sure your car was loving it trying to breath in some of our lack of air, lol. and thanks for telling us you were comming! anyway glad you got home safe and had a fun time. eventually I will try skiing or snowboarding!

Well, I'll be leaving here on Sunday if anybody wants to get together for a mini-meet in the afternoon in the Denver area. My Spyder needs friends.
