This happens every year between Xmas and New Years, but this is probably going to be the last one ever b/c the track is shutting down sometime next year. It's really only open to members of clubs like the SCCA, Porsche club, BMW club, etc, but if they haven't really been checking for valid ID cards. $5 cost to run (going towards a fund for the recently deceased Danny Collins, the guy who designed the track and has been a figure in road racing for decades).
I'll be out there on Friday in my Civic, weather permitting. Here are a couple pics from yesterday (I'm in my Accord wagon).

Forgot to mention there was an older dude there in his '91 MR2T. It was dark blue with aftermarket 17" silver wheels; stock other than that and a homemade boost controller I think. I believe he said his name was Doug.
If you see the car, you'll know - the emblems on the back of the car are painted yellow and it has "wild child" or something like that on both sides of the car in yellow as well.
Either his alternator or battery died at the track though. It couldn't crank or pushstart, but it did start and run with jumper cables on it. But a few minutes after he took the cables off, the car died again.

Just a little tec tip: well the car is running you can disconnect the negative terminal and if the car dies then you know it’s the alternator ;)
i would love to go, however i only have about 100 miles on my 2 ( dont know I used a little over 7 gallons of gas???) Im buy a new turbo gauge cluster hopping its going to fix the problem…. Im also driving around on expired temp tags LOL they only gave me a 10 dayer….. and to top all that off my dad is going to Germany this Saturday, so he working me 10-12 hours days all week long…
hehe my temp tag reads dec2004, lol means December 20, 2004, im just going to play dumb if I get pulled over. However I do plan on getting on miles next week.

Sorry, you missed it. 2nd Creek is the local track out near DIA. It was supposed to close this year (land is sold; our lease is up) but somehow it got extended for next year. Between Xmas and New year's, there are 6 days of "free" open track for SCCA, BMWCCA, Porsche club members, etc. This year they were collecting a $5 donation towards a memorial for Danny Collins, a old local racer guy who recently died - he actually designed Second Creek Raceway.
Here's some info on the track -

I was there Friday from about noon to 4 pm. There were tons of people there; the pits were totally full of cars, bikes, and trailers. I still got plenty of track time. They separated the drivers into "slow," "fast," and motorcycles. I did laps with both the slow and the fast. My first slow heat kinda sucked - it was clogged with assmonkeys in Vettes and Vipers who didn't know how to drive. I was happier in the fast group, although once in a while I'd have to scurry out of the way for a full-bore race car, or a silver EVO that would come up really up pretty fast.
It was a good day still. I had a lot of fun and didn't damage my Civic, which is really what matters. There was a Ferrari 348 out there, and he ended up off track in the dirt once. A yellow M3 spun out right in front of me getting onto the back straight, but I saw it coming and backed off as it was happening.
I'll post some pics once I get them uploaded and hosted.

Which Civic were you in? Just wondering. Did you happen to see the white Celica Alltrac in the row closest to the staging lane?

We saw that one. We had the Dark Blue 2.5RS Impreza and the Black Galant VR-4 out on the track. I distinctly remember someone commenting about how fast that civic was, and how clean it's lines were. Good job.

Well thanks. Having just been there on Monday helped my confidence with my lines and braking points. So did you put all three cars on the track that day?
Here are some pics I took of my buddy Mason driving my car (yes, that Viper was definitely in his way and didn't yield the track) -
