View Full Version : 8/22 - Colorado RallyCross Events #7 & 8 - Fountain, CO

Hey, it's time for RallyCross and Saturday, August 22nd is going to host TWO events. There will be an event in the morning similar to most CO-RX days and an event at NIGHT!

Yes! We will be racing RallyCross at night!!! I'm very excited and you should be too.

I'll be out there in my '86 MR2 (#67) so look for me if you come. I'm more than happy to give rides or help!

We will be racing at the Truck Driving School in Fountain Colorado.
Directions:
Take I-25 South to the Midway exit #119. Take a left through the tunnel under the interstate. Go right (south) on the frontage road and then left and over the Railroad tracks.
The frontage road will turn south towards the School. The event will be held in Northeast training lot. This lot will be visible to you as you drive up.

SCCA Members: $30
Non Members: $45
(EACH EVENT)

General Schedule: (Morning race)
7:00 AM to 8:00 AM Course set-up
8:00 AM to 9:00 AM Registration
9:00 AM to 9:30 AM Tech inspection
9:30 AM to 9:40 AM Drivers meeting
9:40 AM to 10:00 AM Course worker check-in & assignments
10:00 AM First Car Out – racing starts for morning session
Noon to 1:00 PM Lunch Break
1:00 PM First Car Out – racing starts for afternoon session
3:30 PM to 4:00 PM Course clean-up & results posted

The night event will have Registration beginning around 6PM with the first car out at 8PM

...I drove by your MR2 last night on my way up flagstaff for some topless fun in the MR-S ;)
(Carly pointed it out as she shed a tear while we passed her old MKI)

How does the Deuce do in a rally? I want to get into it but im looking at an AWD to build off.

Hey thanks! How was the drive? It was great weather that day, I'm sure it was a blast. I remember your car from the CUSCC Show - it had the cooler in the frunk right? That was so cool, I was talking about that the other day.

Hopefully there will be many more pictures this coming race! I hope to do some body work on the beast one day too so I can actually give it a good life. It needs some lovin' :-)


How does the Deuce do in a rally? I want to get into it but im looking at an AWD to build off.

So far it's done pretty well! I was pretty worried when I talked to Jeremy (owner of the MKII MR2 Rally Car below). He said during real rallies it drove great... during the rallycrosses it understeered like hell.

He was right, during the first lap I found it understeered with too much gas and it understeered with no gas. But it was not too hard to figure out and I pulled off a first place win in stock 2WD!

My friend in his Escort was pretty pissed. He had been winning all year long in stock 2WD. I think it was the first time a rear wheel drive car won that too. So the 2 did pretty well!!

UPDATE!
I'm not sure if they just changed this or what happened but the night race is Saturday (registration starts at 6PM)
and the day race is on SUNDAY (registration starts at 8AM).

Sorry for the mix up
