Well Ive been doing alot of detail work to take my attention off the fact that every jerk in this town wants to hit my MR2. :fiddle: So I painted my wheel Gloss Black. :yea:

Paint of choice: Rattle Can Rustoleum Gloss Black
Other tools: Engine degreaser, wire brush, sand paper, soapy water, and masking tape.

I was lazy and painted them on the vehicle, so some paint got on the tire through the masking, which Ill clean up tomorrow.

Overall they look like they dont belong on my vehicle. Way to shinny for my dinged up MR2. I gave the rims three coats, and the center caps I gave 5 coats due to some deep gouges I couldnt sand out. Ive only painted two tires so far since I started on it when the sun started to go down.

Ill get some daytime photos up tomorrow.

On a side note... I got alot of stuff done to the MR2 today that needed done. New O2 Sensor, old one was breaking apart. Found the EGR exhaust manifold bolt stuck in the underbody shield, so pulled out the oversized one, and thread locked the new one in. Installed brass bushings for the shifter linkage. Then after all this comotion. The bushings on my drive side door hinges failed, so now I have to lift my door up to shut it, which is oober difficult from the inside. Ugh more money down the drain...

I like the look of the wheels though.
Like Ive been told, all these problems come with buying an older car. Just think though, you can build it how YOU want it.
Or at least thats what I tell myself to keep myself going.

After seeing them in the sunlight. They look amazing. I need to get some model airplane paint so I can lay in the Toyota logo on the rim in white.

Next project... Dent repairs, and paint.

I love 80's cars, and I know all about the whole breakdown thing. The Cressida, after one week, all the seals on the head failed. The Cherokee, had bad ujoint, bad seals, bad headliner, bad sensors, bad brakes, the list keeps going on for the Cherokee.
