The other side of the mountain.......

good time on saturday, better turnout than i expected. Were slowly getting interest:). We met at 4pm and left for a canyon drive around 5:30pm for a few hour drive. Good time except for a little accident that a friend of ours got into, he took a corner way to quick. Dont worry, not an mr2, it was an 85 gts. Everyone one was fine and damage was minimal. Lesson learned on his part.

i recruited for this board :) would help to get an official rmmoc.com sticker in white :) the black one with the black rims is awsome, he has a 3rd gen engine swap that he is putting a ton of money into. He did a 13.5 at rocky mountain raceways in salt lake a few weeks ago and is ready to hit 12s now that he has done some mods to the engine and raised the boost.
the 85 was going around a really sharp-long turn with a car in front of him. they hit there brakes and he slammed on his slipping into the other lane and hit that red 4 runner on the rear side spinning it. We are gonna rip the front out this week and get it back going. he has done alot of mods to that thing and it runs real nice for its age. the interior is completely ripped out and we are going to build a custom dash out of sheet metal to save weight. He is building it for autoxing next summer. sucks because he has a ton of trd suspension stuff on the way. I think we might rebuild the engine this winter also. That guy loves to drift too with it.
the main mr2 guy in utah didnt show up, he was out of town, in fact i havnt even meet him yet. he has owned 47 mr2s throughout his life and is pretty young.

ya, thats pretty much what he was doing. It was an interesting drive. I thought one of us went over the side of the mountain. Scared the hell out of me. He hit some rocks and dust flew everywhere and i stopped and couldnt see nothing. I thought he went over the side so the guys behind him stopped and ran to the side of the cliff and nothing, found him around the corner pacing, sweating, and cussing to himself. Had a good laugh after that.

movies of utah mr2s
the first is the black 3rd gen swap taking a stock turbo, the second is a friend with some sort of rev limiter or something like that. He was talking greek to me when he was explaining it. Im still learning about turbos.

Cool vids man. Videos are always welcome here, I just ask that you have permission from the person being filmed that they dont mind, also, try not to make plates to visible as some people dont like theres being seen.
the silver/blue (cant tell what color) with the backfiring sounds like a 2 (or 3) step ignition system. basically it creates load on the motor thus creating boost. good for launching if set up properly!

i had permission, didnt think about the license plate thing, ill see if i can figure out a way to blank those out. ya, thats what he has it for but likes to mess around everyone once in awhile with it as seen in the video.
