People dont understand that when you put so much money into a car your not gonna get what you put into and get your money back. i will be really suprised if this sells.

How gross. Why does it have two different brands of wheels? Other than that, its a pretty car.

Did anyone notice that he's using iridium plugs but running high boost. That's a major no no. I never knew MR2's were "perfect drifters" this guy is an idiot.

Naw, he could be a genius for using the right words. The idiot is the guy that pays that price (or even close) for it.

He just lowered the buy-it-now price to 18.5.

whats wrong with iridiums and boost? they're much stronger, and can withstand heat significantly better than platinum

As I understand it, they have a nasty habbit of breaking under moderate detonation.

This isn't first-hand experience, but NoShoes on the main board hates them.

This could be an hihg-boosted MR2-only sort of thing.

I'm sure the Tech reps at Denso have a substantially different opinion :D , but yeah, I wouldn't risk it for possibly 2-3% more HP.

The caviat, "as I understand it" infers I don't subscribe to the statement, I am merely passing along information.

My statement may very well be completely bogus. I'm open to opinions. Nobody has said the coppers do this, so that's what I run in my car.

The iridiums run hotter as well which is bad for running more than stock boost. You want to run colder plugs so as to avoid knock.

Good logic. After experimenting with a few different plugs, I'm back to using Toyota OEM plugs, thank you very much. Not that my car is any sort of paradigm for a properly-running modified 3S-GTE.

I run coppers because the internet said to...................

still doesn't make sense, iridium is something like 64 times stronger than platinum.... and platinum doesn't break under detonation.

just because someone had one break once, under most likely extreme detonation, doesn't mean they're bad for boost.

Kid Rock's album went platinum 7 times. I think.

Strength and brittle characteristics go hand-in-hand. The more brittle the material, the more susceptible it is to fatigue.

If you get a lot of detonation, even in small amounts per detonation event, a brittle material would fatigue fail and break easier than a ductile material.

ahhh, no one bidded on it.
