So I went to Chipotle a couple weeks ago for lunch in the MR2. I ended up parking right next to my twin - another Red 1993 turbo. When I came back to the car, there was this little note on my windshield telling about this Owners Club. So I thought I'd check it out.

Years ago, when a was young(er) and dumb(er) and poor(er) I had a Blue 1991 turbo. It was a fun car, but I couldn't afford it and so I eventually had to get rid of it. Nowadays I have a rule about financing cars - I don't do it. So I don't drive brand new vehicles, but neither do I have any car payments!

Earlier this year I was looking for a cheapy commuter car. I wanted something fairly nice, but inexpensive and good on gas at the same time. That ruled out an LS400. I was actually looking at ES300s when I saw this MR2 for sale. It was not my color of choice, but it was a '93, a turbo and had t-tops. I test drove it, and that was all it took. I actually paid the guy a little more than the asking price because someone else was interested too. And get this - the original 3 in 1 CD player still works!

The MR2 is impractical, uncomfortable on long trips and terrible in the snow, and it's the most fun car I've ever driven! I've already had people offering to buy it. But I think I'll hold on to it (unless I come across a 1993 or up in that teal green color with tan leather). And this way I'll be prepared if/when a mid-life crisis comes.

I dont believe the teal was offered after 1993.

Seņor Dos-
LOL, This is why I asked you to post up in this section. I had a feeling it was you. I was actually the one driving the other red turbo MR2 at Chipotle that day. I came out and to my surprise the same car was parked next to me. It was facing the same way I was (opposite of everyone else). Thankfully there were RMMOC cards in the car at the time, I am glad you got it!

Anyhow, welcome to the board and glad to have you with us! What is your name?

P.S. The MR2 you saw is actually not mine anymore, but my GF's (Shortee on this board)
P.S.S. Her MR2 is actually a 91 in 93 clothing ;) most people never know!
P.S.S.S. Turquoise Pearl was only offered in 93. Blue Metallic was the same (one of my favorite colors)

Cool, I'm glad you had cards with you too. I think I'll come to the deal in Castle Rock on the 26th. I'll RSVP in the other thread when I've committed.

So as an administrator, did you design this site or is it some sort of template? And is this a WYSIWYG I'm typing in now? Sure looks like it.

Anyhew, my name is Tim.

Welcome aboard! I drove next to you on Austin Bluffs that same day Daniel stole my car and left the RMMOC invite on yours! =D

Glad you could join the chaos!

Oh, I remember that. As I recall there was an Audi following you. That musta been him huh?

It was cool to see a lady driving a 2nd generation MR2.

Has you car been repainted? It sure is shiny.
