Im thinking about doing a track meet sometime this summer, who would be interested in doing a road race @ PMP. Im checking to see how much it would cost for our group. Just gauging interest at this point.

If you get enough to do a date...I would go to watch. (to nervous a driver to put it on the track.)

I could do it with enough notice to take off of work (2-3 weeks). I'd bring my Civic.

Ok I talked to the track and prices are as follows:
1 driver/1 car = $100
this is driving with other drivers on the track for a full day.
If we wanted to have the whole track to ourselves we would need 10 drivers min.
10 drivers/10 cars = $1000

Friday, Saturday, Sunday are taken up until November, so probably Monday or Tuesday. Lets try and get 10 people in, this is going to be fun.

Ill start a list of everyone that is going, and if your going Ill need some money so I can reserve the track.

Edited:
How would everyone feel about this on Independence Day? It is open, but we are competing with another group so if we want that day Ill need to reserve it soon. So everybody that is in for this Ill need a little down payment. And whats nice about this is we own the track for the day, unlimited spectators and we could have a bar-b-q lunch. But as many people as possible let me know tonight if possible, we need 10 people that are commited to this.

Michaelmr2 are you racing or just watching?

Ok guys we need at least 1 or 2 more. And Ill need a down payment because I need to put down 50% to save the track.

This isn't that much guys we are buying the track for a full day, as many runs as you want, and we can have a bar-b-q. Who else is willing to commit?

I wouldnt count on me...my schedule is crap right now. Best case, is I would be a spectator...not going to race.

I would be down for this only if i can get my turbo to work again.

Johnny P

Ok we need some deposits if we want to reserve the track, and if we don't get anymore people it'll end up being $125. Ive asked around to see if I can get anybody else, we might be able to get the price down if we can get more people.

So if I could go ahead and get $60 from the people that are coming then I can go ahead and make the reserveation before its gone. If we end up getting 10+ people then I would split up the overage collected.

Have you opened offer this to other clubs as well? Might help reduce the price.

Edit:

Where and what is PMP?

Pueblo MotorSports Park

Thanks Oldster, and yes your right opening it up to other clubs would bring down the price. But that was a week or more ago and nobody wanted to commit, I don't know if this date is still open.

Johnny P
06-14-2006, 06:04 PM
Well what I think were going to do is split it between us and another group of bikes that have been trying to get the track. So it'll be 30 mins bike, 30 mins cars, or something to that effect. So I hope I see some MR2s out there on the 4th,

Peace
Johnny

Jarod
